I think feeling pretty is just about priceless. I know when I was in the hospital I couln't wait to get out of that frumpy hospital gown...UGLY/See Threw/Scratchy I just didn't like it. It wasn't mine. So when I saw these great birthing gowns, well I fell in LOVE!!!

You can choose to wear this threw delivery...when God and everyone is stopping threw your room or after you deliver and when you go home. This gown is perfect. It allows the nurses the access they need to take care of you without you having to get completely undressed. It is finally here...Baby Brezza!

I so wanted to make my own baby food. I love the idea of making my babies food and know exactly what they are getting. But the truth is I was just to lazy! With the Baby Brezza it would have been so EASY!!! This is totally worth 4 minutes of your time. Check out how fast and easy this machine makes it for you. The Baby Burrito-Oh little did Shad and I know how much this little trick would save our lives when the nurses at the hospital were helping teach us how to prefect it.

After we brought Ms. E home sleepless nights was an understatement. This little girl just wouldn't be put down. In the wee hours of the morning I found Shad watching "The happiest baby on the block" with a screaming baby in his arms. He watched and learned about the 5 s's. Swaddling, Swaying, Shushing, Side, and Sucking. Swaddle the baby, lay them across your arm on their side, Sway back and forth while shushing in their ear (white noise) and holding a binkie in their mouth. It worked like a charm. Turned her tears right off. From then on if she was fed and dry and started crying we used this method.

The most important part of this for us was the swaddling. I needed the perfect blanket and we didn't have one...nor did we sell one at StorkLand. The search was on.

I found several that I love. Miracle Blanket, Swaddle Designs, Luna, Swaddle Me, Swaddle Pod, and Aden and Anais.

I have blogged about several of these before but today I want to talk to you about Aden and Anais. This is the perfect most versatile blanket. It is made of muslin. This fabric is breathable 1st and foremost as well as super soft and durable. The blanket is 47X47. This is so important. You get the best swaddle from a square blanket. The size of this one allows for swaddling for months. (I swear we swaddled Ms. E for 6 months) With every wash these amazing blankets get softer and softer. You can use them to cover the carrier when you are out in the elements. Their sheer textures allows for breathabiltiy which is key in our area but it is also very warm and moisture wicking.

There are lots of colors and styles as well as an organic option. You can try them out in a 2 pack or buy the box of 4. You wont regret this as a gift or for you sweet heart.

Keekaroo How we Love you

This is the keekaroo right height chair. I absolutely LOVE this chair. You guys know me and I love FUNCTION/Multi Purpose/Space Savers. Yes I had another highchair...the kind with multiple trays that reclines and folds up and I loved it. But it lasted us just over 2 years and we used it daily. Now the Keekaroo will stay at our table from sitting up (about 7 months on average-99years) I know it sounds crazy but it is so true.

The Keekaroo can be purchased in 2 separate configurations. The baby configuration comes with the infant inserts (back and bottom parts) and you can choose your color. Lime, Aqua, Chocolate, Pink, Orange...etc... and you also get the high chair tray. This is the 1st stage to this chair. You can raise and lower the seat to the proper height for your table as well as raise and lower the foot portion to grow with baby and keep their feet from dangling and falling asleep.

Now for Stage 2. remove the tray and scoot up the table...Your very own booster with harness.

Stage 3. If you already purchased this as a stage 1 you will need to purchase the new inserts (or just take them out) The only difference is the crotch support. You can choose to use this as an additional seat at the table for all the children or adults.

There are days when this is my chair and days when this is Mr. H's chair.

Another great feature is that you can turn this chair around and use it as a step stool. Mr. H pushes it up to the counter all the time to help me cook. I use it to reach those top shelves.

So in 1 purchase I got a High Chair, Child's Chair, Adult chair (gotta love extra seating) and a step stool. You can choose the color wood for your chair as well as the color of squishy inserts (similar to a bumbo feel). It is a GREAT purchase with long term value.

Last night I told the kids it would be cold and windy in the morning. That there was a cold front blowing in. So when I woke up Mr. H this morning the 1st thing he said was "is it cold enough for my baby legs?".

How funny is that! He has been wearing BabyLegs since he was a baby. They are so perfect for our area. Cold in the morning and 70+ in the afternoon. "Yes it is a BabyLeg morning". I said. And the dancing began.

Baby Banana Brush's New Friend

You have all met the Baby Banana Brush in a previous blog. But just in case you missed it here is a quick review. This is a baby teether that helps promote muscle memory for your little one as well as getting them used to "brush" in their mouth.

I LOVE this product and so did Mr. H. He still even at 3 years old likes to chew on it and play with it. I feel like it really helped him be ready for brushing when the time came.

Well before Mr. H was born I was warned repeatedly how "different" boys are than girls. How true that really is. Especially when it comes to potty training. I was TERRIFIED!!! But Mr. H did really really well. We are coming up on our 3rd birthday this week and we have been trained for about 4 months now.

We did utilize a stool alot...we moved it all over the bathroom...from the potty to the sink and to the tub...then in May at the ABC kids expo I found this little jewel. The Little Looster. (I love the name) When the stool came in it seemed really big but once I put it around the toilet it was much less intrusive. It is such a great size and makes getting up and down around the potty much easier for Mr. H. We have never used a potty chair and this product totally eliminates the need for one at all.

My husbands favorite part is that he can still use the potty without having to move this guy out of the way. See the notches in the front. Perfect for Daddy's feet....There is no need to remove the Little Looster for adults. I love our Little Looster and I hope you will too!

At least that is what Mr. H and I think. This is one of my latest finds from the ABC Spring Educational Conference. Washing hands and playing in the water is a big deal at our house. Especially while we were potty training. I just hated it that Mr. H couldn't reach the sink. I would set him up on the sink to wash his hands and inevitably there was water EVERYWHERE!!!! I would hold him up against the sink and he would cry because it hurt his tummy...NO MORE!!! Now we have the Aqueduck by Peachy.

SnuggleBugzzzz

I have been meaning to blog about our little friends the SnuggleBugzzzz for quite sometime. I just fell in love with this little guy when I found him at the Fall ABC show. Not only is he super cute but he solves a problem I have been dealing with in my own household.

Ms. E (7) is a WILD sleeper to say the least. She tosses and turns and wiggles and flips. CRAZY I tell you!!! I have completely given up on keeping her covers tucked in...seriously...she twists them up in knots. Now sometimes every once in a while her wild antics have landed her flat on the floor. We used to have a gate up on her bed but as we started having sleepovers she begged to have it removed because she was embarrassed.

Then when I did take the silly gate off it was revealed just how much damage it had done to the finish on her BEAUTIFUL bed. So all that brings me to our new friends-SnuggleBugzzz.

We LOVE stuffies in our house. (or snuffies as Mr. H calls them) So when I brought "snowflake" home E was thrilled. She loved on her and cuddled her for days...she went everywhere with us. Next I explained how we could simply attach "Snowflake" to her sheet and she would keep her from falling out. At first E was hesitant but a day or 2 later she came back and said "let's do it." So we did and it has worked out GREAT. "Snowflake" is just heavy enough to act like a bumper to keep E from falling out. "Snowflake" is a loved member of our family. And E and her friends think she is pretty cool.

New Orleans and Mardi Gras

Ok, well almost Mardi Gras. Our buying group has an annual conference called the BBC (Building Business Conference) This is the most valuable industry event I attend each year.

I have blogged about it before but in case you missed it. Here is my take on what our goal is for this meeting. We as independent retailers have an opportunity to discuss industry issues with who we feel are the key manufactures in our industry. This is an invitation only event. NINFRA is very selective with whom is invited to attend.

We spend a day and a 1/2 in meetings discussing ways to build our business together, how to deal with new regulation in our industry, and even speed dating (where each retailer gets 10 minutes to sit down with each manufacture) This time in invaluable. We discuss the good and the bad. We look for ways to create greater profit and benefit on both ends.

After the meetings we have social events. We eat dinner and talk for hours on end. This is where the most important part comes in-relationship building.

It makes such a difference when I need to call a company if I have met them, had dinner with them, shared stories and social time. Relationships are KEY in any industry. This is how we build ours.

On our last night Rafael (executive director of NINFRA) arranged for the conference attendees to have a private party on Bourbon Street catered by an AMAZINGLY talented and award winning chef. Before we headed to the party dad and mom took me down Bourbon Street to Pat O Brain's to get a hurricane. YUMMY!!! but watch out it will kick you in the booty.

It was funny walking down Bourbon Street I just had no idea. As we walked a song that I sing to my kids quickly began to play in my head "Oh be careful little eye's what you see" It wasn't quite Mardi Gras time but there was still plenty to see.

No Electricity Needed. Those are words I LOVE!!! When Ms. E was born I tried every bottle warmer I could find for travel. We were going to markets and family trips and even just driving to Burkburnett to see daddy for lunch. I always needed to warm up a bottle. Whether I was 20min away or 500 miles.

I quickly learned that none of those car warmers were worth a HOOT!!! The milk was always heated unevenly...hot spots....cold spots...Just didn't work.

Then I found this Grab N Go bottle warmer. You wrap the warming packet around the bottle and then activate it and put it in the sleeve. It takes about 30 minutes to warm the bottle and it is PERFECT!!! It will also keep the bottle warm for several hours. Once you are done you just boil the package for 10 min and you car reuse it over and over.

I kept 3 of the packets and one sleeve and that seemed to always be more than enough for me.

So there it is....Grab N Go Bottle Warmer...it gets my stamp of approval!!

So here's the proof..the other night my family and the Schmidt family went to our local St. Paticks day street fair. The kids had a blast and little miss Riley enjoyed her mom's chewbeads the entire evening. Everytime I turned around that princess was chewing away. Not to mention how cute do those look on Jennifer!!!

Slipperier Than a Greased Pig!

I was terrified of Ms. E when she was born. I just knew I was going to break her. My mom stayed with us for several days…(she only lives 3 streets away) but I insisted she stay the night! When it came time to bathe her I was a nervous wreck…I mean that baby was slipperier than a greased pig. I just knew I was going to drop her. Well I didn’t but Shad quickly inherited bath duty and still to this day he is the primary bath giver.
At our last ABC show in October I found these Palm Mitts. I just LOVE them!!! These would have been a life saver for me. Talk about confidence booster!!! Now that Mr. H is 2 ½ you would think I wouldn’t still use them but I do. He just thinks they are FUN!!! So does Ms. E. She wants to use them on herself. Talk about some longevity in an inexpensive product. They come in brown, blue, and pink.

We have just gotten these in and they are even cuter than I imagined them to be. I have blogged about Zoobies before but they have out done themselves with this new sleeping bag. It is just $49.99 and comes in a Puppy, Kitty, or Pony. They are all equally cute!!

The sleeping bag is toddler size...I say it would fit upto 4 or 5 years old depending on how tall your cutie is .

Oh ya and when you pull out the sleeping bag your animal is still stuffed so that it can be used as a pillow. In a regular Zoobie when the blanket is out your animal is flat. The sleeping bag can easily be removed for washing as well.

Hot dog cutter part 2

It's been a really long time since I blogged about my love affair with the hot dog cutter. And since we are snowed in and Mr. H is all about his hot dogs, I thought I would let you in on a little tip- wait- you don't know about the hot dog cutter??? Well let me show you!

First grab a hot dog or 2

Next press them through your hot dog cutter (here's the secret. Do it before you cook them- so much easier not handling it hot).

Done- and yes I know you all own a knife and fork but this is so easy and the kids think it is super fun!!

Ok so what does all that mean. You can walk around your house and even farther up to 400 ft and see your baby. You can zoom in, pan out and scan the room. Now lets say you want to move the baby to play in the floor of the living room while you are in the kitchen fixing lunch. Now you can take the camera from babies room (wirelessly) and put it in what ever room you want. Your handheld unit also has charging base that is magnetic. Yipee!!! We are so excited to have Baby Bobo back in stock at StorkLand Wichita Falls. I know my Tyler and OKC customers are anxious to get their hands on these wonderful items as well. No worries Bobo is sewing her little heart out and will have them shipped ASAP!

Baby Bobo took a few months sabbatical in order to go to China and pick up the newest member of their family, Kate. I had the privilege of meeting sweet Kate after Mike and Ashley's return from China and just before their move to Auburn. They have had a REALLY busy last couple of months. The family is all settled now and Kate is adjusting better than anyone could have ever expected. (but honestly I was never worried with a mama like Bobo and a daddy like Mike and 2 incredible big sisters--she never had a chance) I just LOVE this family to death and miss them more than words could ever explain. So if you have a child in grades 1st-6th. They must have required reading time each night. I know Emma and Grace both do. The last time Grace was at the house after school she was doing her reading and I bet she asked me 10 time..."how long has it been" Now don't get me wrong. She loves to read and she wasn't complaining...she honestly wanted to know. So I found these. I think they are so great. It is a book mark with a built in timer. Now your kiddo knows just how much longer they have. What are great stocking stuffer...SANTA are you listening!!!

Tag A Long

The Tag A Long has been put to good use by my family already! I got one of these as a sample at the ABC show and the next weekend we had Shad's Iron Man competition. Henry loves to ride in his stroller but we knew this was going to be a long day and he would want to get out several times. Lets just say it worked like a charm!!! Whenever he got out and wanted to walk I told him he had to hold onto his handle and amazingly enough he did.

I like the Tag A Long because it keeps him close by me. We were in some very large crowds and I didn't want him to have very much distance between us. There are several other products like this on the market with straps but I think they give to much length/distance. You can get tangled up in them very easily. The Tag A Long keeps our babies close by.

It also worked well for when I needed Emma to be close by and Henry was riding. Whenever we got into a crowd and Henry was riding Emma would follow suit and hold on. It was great.

We are also using this at the grocery store. Henry is getting a little big for the basket and likes to walk. I am not scared in the super market but he does wander a bit. This is really helping us keep task so that my trips don't take quite so long.

I have to tell you I was totally sceptical of these wipes when my mom found them at the ABC Show. Who is really going to use these???ME ME ME...I am going to use them and so will you if you just give them a try.

Let me tell you a little history-At 3 years old we discovered that Emma had a sever problem with her teeth...after many dental visits, a TON of money, undergoing complete sedation, we finally had her teeth fixed. She has just now began to relax when it is time to go to the dentist over 3 years later. I have been so worried about Henry's teeth. I am so happy to be home for a while and have my head above water so I can start to blog again, as well as do all the other day to day things I love to do.

As I mentioned in my previous blog I have been at market alot lately. The first one was the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas. This is a hugely important show for us. We work so hard to cover the over 1,000,000 square feet of vendor space, searching for all the unique products that you know and love us for. Over the next couple of weeks I will be updating you guys on all the cool things I found!

Ulubulu is a company that we have been familiar with for several years but they were previously known as personalized pacifiers. I found this company before Henry was born and I was so excited. I just love the sayings. Henry and I would get stopped all the time so people could read what his paci said. I think they are too funny but even more I love that you can get your babies name on their own paci. What are GREAT idea. Not every baby goes to day care but at some point you will have your babies with other babies and it is so nice to know who's binkie is who's. Now Henry does go to daycare so I know that the daycare workers always know his paci because his name is right there--Black and White! These personalized paci's come in a variety of colors and sayings. We already have a huge selection at each of our 3 locations with numerous cute sayings. ( These looks great as a package topper!) If you would like to have yours custom made we can do that to...You will get 3 paci's in your color of choice with your precious baby's name on them. These are a great baby gift!

There is also a new silicone bib that Ulubulu makes that we just got in. Are these not the CUTEST bibs ever!!! They have a really great closure on the back and that all important "pelican" lip to the front that catches all the crumbs!!!

This is my favorite new stroller. I just wish I could have had this with Mr. H...boy would my life have been so much easier. Watch the video and pay close attention to the captions. It moves fast but there is so much to see about this great stroller for mom's on the go. Can you believe only 14lbs?

How Hip are you?

Well according to my 6 year old "I Rock" but my 13 year old girl...not so much!!! However, I think these just might help my plite. Ms. E came in the store yesterday and spied these and almost flipped her lid. She begged and begged..."Please Please...what can I do to get these" My reply "ASK SANTA" So what are they...only to coolest...the hotest...new IPod/MP3 accessories you can find. CHIC BUDS. These Chic Bugs Earphones are retractable (so great for kids or grown ups who constantly get those cords tangled up. They come in Grape, Marshmellow, Watermellon, Blueberry, and Sour Apple. Yes, those are swarovski crystals.

Chicboom...Ms. A has had several portable speakers over the years and none were all that great. They all broke relativly quickly and we were generally unimpressed. Now these babies...WOW can the blow!!! The sound they produce is unbelievable quality and they are so tiny. Litterally the size of a lip gloss ball. Every stocking is going to need to have one of these. Sport Headphones-ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Are these really back in style. Well according to my 13 year old YES!!! She has been begging us for a pair for a few months now....So of course if we are going to get these 1980 throw backs...they are going to knock your socks off.

And don't worry...we didn't forget your the guys in your life either...While they wont sport the swarovski crystals they can't get any cooler than these Rockbuds..also retractable!

A good nights sleep!

A good nights sleep is worth a mint!! Literally, for me it is sanity. It is the difference in being a good mom, wife, and employee and being a BEAR!!!! Shad and I have worked so hard to ensure a welcome sleep environment for our kids both for them as well as for us. These Cloud B products have been great tools from birth to present day with both Ms. E and Mr. H. They each sleep with the Twilight Turtle. I love that in the middle of the night if they wake up they can just reach over and turn on their turtles and see stars on the ceiling. Ms. E's favorite color is blue right now and so each night after we say our prayers and I turn her turtle on she says blue please. That turtle is now 6 years old. We change his batteries every few months and she love him.

Now Mr. H has had his turtle in his room since birth and I turned it on each night before I closed the door but his turtle has now found it's way into his crib. He is just 2 years old but he will turn his turtle on at night and sometimes in the morning. He has one of those great DARK rooms so this morning for example he woke up and called for me while I was in the midst of putting Ms. E's hair in a ponytail. I called out that I would be there in a minute and to turn on his turtle. When I opened the door his room was filled with little green stars and he was happy.

The Twilight Turtle stays on for about 20 minutes and it can shoot starts in green, blue and yellow.

This is the Twilight LadyBug. She is exactly the same as the Twilight Turtle but in cute LadyBug form. Ms. E really wants one of her as well...not that she is giving up her turtle but in addition too!

These last two little guys are great also. These stuffies are both sound machines. White noise is so important for newborns. You may remember the bear with the mother's heartbeat. Well these two guys are an updated version of that. Neither of these were available when Ms. E was born so I put a TV in her room and turned it to a static channel. It worked well. About 3 months after she was born we got in the sheep. We both loved it!!! Infact she still gets the sheep out every once in a while to play with. Mr. H got a Gentle Giraffe and he still lives with him daily, even 2 years later.

I hope that these additions will help you and your kiddo's get some much needed rest!

PS...The Sleep Sheep and Gentle Giraffe also come in a travel size. They are really good for new puppies as well!!!

This is Sarah Deaton. She has 2 wonderful boys and has shopped with us for a couple of years. She came in the other day to find a solution for tiny boy who was slumping in his infant carrier. I showed her to options. This is what she has to say about the SnugginGo.

My sweet little Colin was born 4 weeks early, and was so tiny that he was dwarfed in his car seat. I had rolled up receiving blankets all around him but his poor little head still flopped around. Not only did I feel like he was uncomfortable, I felt that he wasn't very secure and safe in the car seat. I went to look for a car seat insert for him and was faced with a few different options. Although the Snuggingo was a bit more expensive than some of the others, I decided that it would be the best option. It has been AWESOME! He sits in the car seat comfortably, and his head never falls forward anymore. He seems so safe and secure and comfortable! It was worth every penny, and I would recommend this to any new mom!

Doug and Jo's Birthdays are just 19 days apart. Don't believe for a minute that Doug doesn't let Jo forget that she is still older no matter how small the difference. This year Vikki planned a big Birthday Party for the two of them. We had BBQ, B-Day Cake, and Party Games. So much fun to get away from the office and really enjoy each other. Before the games could begin we had to dress the part!

Baby it's Cold Outside

Ok not really...but soon...Ok not really but you know when we will start having those mornings where it is 50 and then 80 by noon. I have said it before and I will say it again...Baby Legs are the GREATEST. Just a few days ago we left really early and a cold front had pushed through our area (for like 1/2 a min) so when we left the house it was around 60 degrees...We got just out of the garage and Mr. H says..."Mamma...it's FREEZING!!" Luckily I ran back in grabbed his football baby legs and he was set..Not to mention he LOVED them. When he got to school I asked his teachers to take them off as it got warmer...Later that afternoon I picked Henry up and he told me..."I not take my footballs off. I love them" I am hooked!! These can also be worn as arm warmers with short sleeves as well. Oh ya and GREAT for diaper changing made easy!!!

So the other day when I brought clothes home for Ms. E to play fashions show it never dawned on me that Mr. H would wanna play too!!! He loved trying on the clothes I had brought home for him. One of the things I disliked the most about the little baby phase was nail trimming. It scared me to death. I even made my sister come over when my babies were tiny to either help me or do it for me. I didn't want to hurt them...or they were always awake and moving...or they were asleep and God forbid I woke them. So here is the solution. The BUZZ B!!

That's right success. Sleep is so important...and when you finally find something that works, something that makes that baby sleep...the JOY inside is unexplainable. The words "you feel like a new woman" don't even get it all in. So my best friend Jennifer has a sweet sweet new baby. Riley is not sleeping super well and isn't a fan of swaddling. I had another great friend (Ashley Harris) whose baby boy pulled this little trick. So what do you to with a baby that doesn't want to swaddle. Unfortunately I didn't find this wonderful blanket until it was too late for the Harris family. There sweet little boy was already too big, but the Schmidts will benefit from my research. The Swaddle Pod by Summer Infant is amazing!!! Here is Jennifer's Blog so you can see sweet Riley all bundled up. The Swaddle Pod allows baby to move but doesn't let them jerk in their sleep. So Riley still feels safe and cosy but not restrained. I still highly recommend swaddling but if it just isn't working try a swaddle pod!

A good friend of mine, Sarah, has brought a wonderful program to Wichita Falls. Emma and I were involved in a similar class from 18 months to 3. We still sing some of the songs we learned and have taught them to Henry as well. It was a great time for she and I to be together. Now we have the same opportunity with Sarah and MusikGarten.

I have to tell you the story behind these shoes. We were at market 5 years ago the first time we saw these. A couple of cute little kids were running around market hall with these on. The first day it was cute by the 5th day I thought I was going to pull my hair out. We decided not to purchase them for the store. Then a few weeks later a friend of mine that used to own a baby store in Dallas (Shelby's stuff we miss you) sent Emma a pair and told me that these shoes were HUGE for her. I couldn't believe it. So one morning sitting in the bathroom floor I put them on Emma. She stood up and took a few steps. Looked down at her feet and literally slapped her knee and started laughing...next thing I knew she took off running down the hall. Well we were hooked. I soon realized the GREAT benefit of these shoes. I could find Ms. E anywhere in the house not to mention if we went shopping. It was GREAT!!! When Ms. E finally out grew the brand she literally cried. And for about a year every time we would buy shoes she would say "Do they squeak?" These shoes have been the most successful shoe line we have every carried. Hands down!!! They fit ALL feet and the squeaks are removable. Sometimes when we would go to a nice restaurant or to church I would remove the squeaks so we didn't disturb anyone around us.

Every little one needs a TeePee

The other day we shot a commercial and I had our kids at the store for several hours. Ages 8-2. I couldn't keep them out of this TeePee. They had such a ball playing and hiding in here. At first I hadn't thought that I would order one for the house but now I have totally changed my mind. They fold up so easily for storage (which is always one of my first concerns--I am OCD) They come in several different fabrics. One of the cutest is the sock monkey's and they are just $129.97. Life Saver!

We spent the past couple of days with our wonderful cousins at the beach. We had so much fun. We left Wednesday afternoon around 3 and didn't arrive until almost 1:00am. The drive should only take about 8 hours but you know how many times you need to stop with little ones in the car. Just before we headed out I found this in my garage. I thought what the heck lets give it one more try. You see when Ms. E was about 3 I bought these for the store. Needless to say there were not good sellers. Ms. E was not excited about having this on her lap at all. So in the garage it went and I honestly forgot all about them.

I am so glad we tried this again. Ms. E LOVED it. Now she is 6 and she probably would have liked it over a year ago but like I said I forgot all about it. She used it to color, play on her DSi, eat snacks, and hold her movies. (that was her favorite part)

The tray is soft but supportive. The reason it is so soft is so that if you were in an accident it would not injure your child.
The pockets on the sides are deep. Which is great for sippy cups or water bottles. (Way better than the cup holders that come with your carseats)
It folds up small and fits right back into the bag it comes in so that it can store under the seat easily.
There is a strap that you can secure it around your child if they are small and have trouble keeping it in their laps but we didn't need that.
There are raised sides. That is the best feature. Toys, crayons, snacks, etc don't go rolling onto the floor. GENIUS!!!

So here is my question to you all. Should we bring these back in? Would you want one for your little guys?
Again, Ms. E wants you to know that her favorite part was that it held her touch so she didn't have to when she was watching her movies.

Are these not the CUTEST things ever. I think they are so versatile for our area. You know those mornings in the fall where it is SO cold when you leave the house but then 75 in the afternoon. Oh My Goodness it is so HOT!!! I just got back from the big Stroller Strides Summer Kick Off Party and I am just TOO HOT!!! The party was great. Lots of mommy's and baby's getting fit. I just love Stroller Strides..(but I will save that for a later blog)

While I was out there I got lots of questions about sunscreen and sun safety for babies. It got me to thinking. There might be lots of you out there with the same kind of questions. There are not alot of products on the market that are safe to be used on babies. We have several option for you.

Did you know that during your 70% of sun exposure happens before you are 17 year old. That is why it is so important to protect you baby's skin today and teach them to protect it for the future. Baby's skin is immature and the fact that they are immobile makes it especially sensitive to the sun and its UV rays.

ABC Spring Show

I have said it before and I will say it again. This is my favorite show of the year. This show is much smaller than the ABC show in the Fall...well that is really a huge understatement. There are only 200 manufactures allowed into this show and only specialty stores get to come. NO BIG BOX no E-tailers...So I get time to have meaningful conversations with my manufactures without having BRU walk in behind me or have AMAZON watch what I am picking out. I have almost enough time to make it through the entire vendor area with out killing myself. There are lots of stores that have one person who buys metal (strollers, carseats, etc) one person who buys bedding, one person who buys furniture. But not StorkLand....Jo, Doug and I do it ALL and ALL together!!!

Another big reason I love this show is the social and educational side of it. We begin the Show with a Welcome Reception. This year it was at Glass Works...TOO COOL!!! The next day we spend most all of it in workshops with different Industry Speakers. We learned alot about Social Networking and Improving our Customer Service as well as Holding Special Events. Great information from INCREDIBLE speakers. Then late that Afternoon the trade show begins. After we have shopped our hearts out the Louisville Bourbon Buses arrive to take us to the Convention Center where 2011 and 2012 Fall ABC show will be held. We are truly given the RED CARPET treatment. Yummy Food, Great Drinks, Cigars, Entertainment (my fav was the photo booth-Yvette we are still waiting on our pics) Great Great Show...lots of work, lots of learning, and lots of FUN!!! This is Mary-Baby's 1st Furniture in Houston, Karla-Kid Stuff Super Store-Lincoln NE, and ME!! Our hotel had a fun sports bar where you could always find a group of our friends hanging around.

NINFRA Annual Meeting

Just before the Spring ABC show NINFRA (our buying group) holds our annual meeting. This meeting has evolved so much over the past 5 or 6 years. When I was younger Doug would drag me kicking and screaming into a room filled with long narrow tables. Where I was forced to endure hours of arguing/debating/mandatory buys/catalogs discussions....the list goes on and on. But now the meetings are TOTALLY different. We actually discuss ways to improve our businesses, what is working for each of us, we are educated on the most relevant avenues for growth, such as Social Networking. It is a wonderful meeting to attend. Evey time we get together with our NINFRA business partners I learn something new that I can take back and implement. It was a GREAT Meeting.

In these pictures we are speed dating. It was great way to meet members that we might not have had a chance to socialize with before.
